Kids With No Clothes

Dear Friends,
The Love of God is beyond the need for clothes. As much as we embrace the spiritual needs we need to ask God to help us to meet the physical need of a whole man.
These kids need love and care of the lord because the kingdom of God belongs to them.
Please pray for our church as seek to be part of the life of these kids in the desert where they do not know the how cloth looks like. It is not a priority in their lifes.
In Turkana Land helping a child access Education is a life term investment.
Join us as we reach our hand to these kids.

Floods in Lodwar, Kenya

Dear

Friends of IPHC Soweto Church.
This is to let you know that the recent rains in Turkan has caused havoc in Lodwar and especially the Soweto village. River Kawalase was flooded till it break its banks and swept away the Soweto Village inhabiting its banks including the IPHC - Soweto Church where I pastor. About 500 people has been affected by the floods. However there are immediate people who have lost their property and houses to the floods.
The IPHC Soweto church is calling upon friend and well wishers to pray and also support the affected people financially and also by giving them some things to use. e.g Water Cans, Cooking pots, foodstuffs, Iron sheets for building among other things. The Church has announced that the end of the collections will be next sunday where the affected people will be distributed these things.

The whole of North Eastern and North Western part of the Country is hit.
Last week, The church bought some food stuffs for the orphans in the Soweto village. we bought maize flour, cooking oil, washing soap and some dried food. We still appeal for more food for the Vulnerable children in Turkana.

Distributing Humanitariane Aid

Hey !!!
Today has been an hectic day for me and my wife Agnes in Light blue dress. After Sunday Service I met a group of women in the Soweto Village where I am pastoring a church. I was able to meet 25 women under a group called “ ATUKOR SELF HELP GROUP” These group was formed after realizing they were having common problems of starvation, and some of them are hailing from the HIV/AIDS.
I came to know about these ladies through one lady by the name Leah Ewesit in Red/brown dress who is their chair lady and a member of my church. Some of them do not go to church, others are catholics, others are baptists and others have loosed hope of living.
Some of this ladies stay with orphans whose parents have died due to hunger and HIV/AIDS.
I went and requested some food stuffs from local international organization here in Lodwar and they gave some dehydrated food stuff Imported from USA and I and my wife also bought some cooking oil and a couple of maize flour on top to distribute to this villagers languishing in trouble.
We were able to feed a total of about 100 people. About 30 adults and 70 children in small area of the Soweto Village in Lodwar town.
I therefore continue asking you to pray with us and let us trust God together for God`s providence towards this dire need of starvation.
After Sunday service, I do visit some of them who are very weak and wasted and encourage them from the word of God.
The trouble here in Turkana has been coupled by the rain which has taken long to come. Wes till trust God for the rain.

Hunger in Turkana, Kenya

A couple of months have passed with no signs of rain in Turkana and several parts of the Country. Life has become hard. The kids are getting hard time attending schools due to lack of food at school. The livestock have no grass and no water for the animals and for the people to quench thirst. Children in the interior have resorted to stay at home until there is porridge in school.
The Unembraced Ministry here in lodwar through the IPHC church in Soweto village in Lodwar town is preparing some meals for the day care centers so that the kids can have a fill for the night. for more information about the Unembraced ministry and what we are doing in Turkana, the norhtwest part Kenya you can visit http://www.unembraced.org/ or http://www.jrwoodward.net/ We need your prayers and financial support towards this need.
We need to support the christian families who are staying with orphans and also to support the families that can not get enough to feed on.
